During the second wave of Covid-19 Pandemic (April-May 2021) as part of the Joint CSR initiative of National Scheduled Castes Finance and Development Corporation and National Backward Classes, Finance and Development Corporation (PSUs of Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, GOI) are conducting the following activities for providing relief to Covid – 19 patients and needy people affected due to lockdown.
Food distributionProgramme:
Food distribution has been sanctioned to provide food to migrant workers, daily wagers, senior citizens, abandoned persons, and other needy persons during lockdown at Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. The Food distribution program will provide 39000 food packets to needy persons over a period of 15 days. The program has started in Mumbai on 08.05.2021. The food distribution program at Bengaluru and Delhi is scheduled to start from 11.05.2021. The food distribution program will be implemented by local NGOs with participation from NSFDC and NBCFDC.
Provision of Medical Equipments to treat Covid patients:
Medical equipment consisting of Oxygen cylinders (39 cylinders), One Oxygen Concentrator, and a Bipap machine are sanctioned to Government Hospitals (Acharya Shree Bhikshu Hospital and SwamyDayanand Hospital) and an NGO in Delhi.
