Garib Kalyan Sammelans organised in Odisha on completion of eight years of the Government
Union Education and Skill Development Minister attends the Garib Kalyan Sammelans at Mahanga, Cuttack
Union Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan said that Union Government has been constantly working for the welfare of all sections of citizens with particular focus on the Garib Kalyan Sammelans and Women Empowerment. Shri Dharmendra Pradhan was addressing a large gathering organised on the occasion of eight years completion of the government at Mahanga, Cuttack today.
Enumerating the number of beneficiaries of a host of central schemes, the minister highlighted that since 2014 as many as 11 crore households across the country have been equipped with toilets. He said while 9 crore gas connections to poor families have been given, about 40 lakh farmers in Odisha alone have received about Rs 8000 crore under the PM-Kisan scheme so far.
The Minister said that under the able leadership of Prime Minister Shri Modi, while 190 crore doses of vaccine have been given across the country, in Odisha alone, people have been given 6 crores 72 lakh vaccine doses against COVID19 for free. “This is called governance, this is called responsibility which the Modi government has efficiently performed,” he added.
Underlining the benefits of Jan Dhan Yojana, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan said, in Odisha alone, 1.90 crores out of the total 45 crore bank accounts have been opened which symbolises the Prime Minister’s vision of an inclusive India. “The Modi government aimed at developing every section of people at all times,” Shri Dharmendra Pradhan said.
Facilitating at least six progressive farmers and beneficiaries of different Central schemes during the event, the Minister said that more than 33 lakh farmers of Odisha are receiving about Rs 703.46 crore directly in their bank accounts today under the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi. Later, the Minister along with other dignitaries and beneficiaries connected with the Garib Kalyan Sammelan at Shimla through the virtual model.
MoS for Jal Shakti and Tribal Affairs joined the programme at Baripada
In another similar programme in Baripada, Minister of State for Jal Shakti and Tribal Affairs Shri Bisweswar Tudu said that the people of the country are happy as they are enjoying the benefits of various schemes of the central government.
Addressing the Garib Kalyan Sammelan, the minister said that the government under Shri Narendra Modi has always put emphasis not only on Garib Kalyan but also on other aspects of our country, be it national security or the safe evacuation of more than 23,000 students stranded in a war bound Ukraine. “Under the Prime Minister, India’s image across the globe has witnessed a boost,” Shri Tudu said.
Reflecting on the desire of the Prime Minister to create at least 75 Amrit Sarovar in each district of the country on the occasion of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the minister called upon the stakeholders to give effect to this programme with sincerity and dedication. “Amrit Sarovar will not only cater to the local need for drinking water and irrigation but also can create employment opportunities,” he said.
Later the Minister along with people’s representatives, officials, beneficiaries and others witnessed the virtual interaction of the Prime Minister with the beneficiaries of central schemes and also listened to his address from Shimla.
