Dr Kim Grimes drives results by managing relationships, negotiating conflicts, and always providing solutions. Hard work, of course, is part of the process — but that’s not all there is to it. “We focused on a need,” Dr. Kim explains. “A need I have to serve others.” And that focus has paid off in big ways. By giving back and serving people, Dr. Kim is honoring and caring for the needs of others by meeting people where they currently are. It’s an ongoing challenge, but one she’s determined to meet head-on.
Dr. Kim founded Living Abundantly, Inc., a for-profit health and wellness company after a personal encounter with God that led her to believe and trust in Him. She was inspired by His words in John 10:10, “I came that they may have life and have it more abundantly.” Living Abundantly Youth Vision is her non-profit, faith-based organization exclusively for teens and young adults who want to overcome their fears, live a life of integrity, walk in their greatness, and achieve their dreams. Dr. Kim’s high-energy messages move men, women, young adults, and teens to “shake off mediocrity” and “live up to their greatness.”
Being transparent is what Dr. Kim loves, she’s never been one to participate in the rat race, nor does she identify as a tiger. Instead, she’s learned to trust in God and entrust her life – including her marriage, career, businesses, and relationships – to a higher power. For Dr. Kim, this is the only way to live abundantly.
Dr. Kim has always been a go-getter. At a very young age, she enlisted in the United States Army Reserve and never looked back. She worked her way up through the ranks, eventually retiring as a Major. After 25 years of service, Dr. Kim still wanted to do more for society. But this time, she wanted to serve the world. She is driven to help people to succeed, and she seizes the opportunity to do so as a personal development professional. Along the way, Dr. Kim earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, a Master’s Degree in Management, and a Doctorate Degree in Strategic Leadership. In addition to her impressive academic achievements, Dr. Kim has been joyfully married to her husband, LTC (R) Lionel T. Grimes for 27 years.
As a leader, Dr. Kim has always been someone who makes others better. She strives to be an effective leader, not only by making sure her presence is felt, but also by making sure her impact lasts in her absence. Her philosophy is that if she can help others to be who they were created to be, they then will, in turn, bless other people, contributing to making the world a better place.
