Shri Nitin Gadkari Says “India Targets No. 1 Position in Global Automobile Manufacturing”
Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari, unveiled an ambitious roadmap to position India as the world’s leading hub for automobile manufacturing, green mobility, and infrastructure innovation at the International Value Summit 2025, held in New Delhi yesterday. India has now surpassed Japan to become the third-largest automobile market globally, and the government is targeting the No. 1 position within the next five years. “All major global automobile brands are now present in India. Their focus has shifted from merely assembling to exporting vehicles from India to the world,” said Shri Nitin Gadkari. He further emphasised that India’s two-wheeler sector alone exports over 50% of its production, showcasing the country’s growing global footprint. Photo credit-Press release On clean mobility, the Minister highlighted India’s leadership in electric vehicles, hydrogen fuel, and alternative fuels. “We have already launched hydrogen trucks, and pilot projects are underway across ten routes. Our aim is to lead the world in green mobility,” he stated. With support from companies such as Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland, Reliance, and Indian Oil, the government has provided ₹600 crore in grants to fast-track hydrogen infrastructure. TRAI Assesses Network Quality of Mobile Service Operators across Kanpur and Unnao Cities and Prayagraj to Lucknow Highway UPE LSA
Release of findings of Independent Drive Tests (IDT) The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has conducted Independent Drive Tests (IDT) covering Kanpur and Unnao Cities and Prayagraj to Lucknow Highway of Uttar Pradesh East LSA during the month of August 2025. The IDT have been designed to capture real-world mobile network performance across diverse usage environments –Urban zones, hotspots, public transport hubs, etc. 2. TRAI, through its appointed agency, conducted detailed drive tests of 356.1 Kms of City test and 4.8 kms of walk test in Kanpur and Unnao Cities and 196.8 Kms of Highway test from Prayagraj to Lucknow between 4th to 8th August 2025. Technologies evaluated included 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G, reflecting the service experience of users across multiple handset capabilities. The findings of IDT have been intimated to all the TSPs concerned for further necessary action. Key Parameters Assessed: a) Voice Services: Call Setup Success Rate (CSSR), Drop Call Rate (DCR), Call Setup Time, Call Silence Rate, Speech Quality (MOS), Coverage. b) Data Services: Download/Upload Throughput, Latency, Jitter, Packet Drop Rate, and Video Streaming Delay. Call Setup Success Rate – Airtel, BSNL, RJIL, and VIL have 98.23%, 96.31%, 100% and 98.71% call setup success rate, respectively in …

State Bank of India (SBI) and National Investment and Infrastructure Fund (NIIF)join hands to provide a greater thrust to infrastructure financing
Mumbai, India: State Bank of India and National Investment and Infrastructure Fund (NIIF) have today inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to boost the availability of capital for infrastructure projects. The scope of the MoU includes equity investments, project funding, bond financing, renewable energy support, and take-out finance for operating assets. The objective of this initiative is to aid in filling the gap at a time when the availability of equity and debt financing for infrastructure has moderated. On the sidelines of the signing event, Rajnish Kumar, Chairman, SBI said, “Today on the auspicious occasion of 64 the Bank’s Day, SBI, and NIIF have joined hands to provide a suite of financing solutions to the Infrastructure sector. The initiative will address concerns relating to the availability of equity and long term debt funding options to large scale projects thereby stimulating infrastructure development”.
