Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh Releases RTI Journal and Launches E-Journal on NFICI Website
CIC and State Commissions Achieved Nearly 100% RTI Disposal Even During COVID Lockdown: Dr. Jitendra Singh Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science & Technology, Earth Sciences, MoS Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, MoS PMO, Department of Space, Department of Atomic Energy, Dr. Jitendra Singh, today released the latest edition of the RTI Journal and unveiled an E-Journal on the website of the National Federation of Information Commissions in India (NFICI). The Minister was addressing the Inaugural Session of the 15th Annual General Body Meeting of NFICI at the Central Information Commission (CIC), New Delhi. The meeting was attended by the Chief Information Commissioner of the Central Information Commission, Heeralal Samariya, State Chief Information Commissioners and Information Commissioners from across the country. Highlighting some of the landmark DoPT reforms since 2014, Dr. Jitendra Singh recalled the abolition of over 1600 obsolete rules, starting with the practice of getting documents attested by gazetted officers. “This reform sent out a message that this Government trusts the youth of this country, who comprise 70% of the population,” he said. India Hosts First-Ever 3GPP RAN Meetings on 6G Standardization in Bengaluru
Discussions begin on 3GPP Release 20 – the foundation for global 6G specifications In a historic first for India and the global telecom community, the 3GPP Radio Access Networks (RAN) Working Group meetings – RAN1 through RAN5 – were inaugurated on 25th August, in Whitefield, Bengaluru. With support from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Ministry of Communications, and hosted by the Telecommunications Standards Development Society, India (TSDSI), the meetings mark the first time discussions on 6G standardisation under 3GPP Release 20, alongside the finalisation of Release 19 specifications, which will advance the evolution of 5G Advanced. The meetings will continue through 29th August 2025. The Department of Telecommunications has extended full institutional and financial support for hosting the event, highlighting the Government of India’s commitment to shaping the future of global communications technology. A DoT delegation is actively participating in the meetings, signalling the government’s sustained engagement in the 6G vision. TSDSI is the recognised Standards Development Organisation (SDO) of India and one of the seven organisational partners of the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP), the global body responsible for developing specifications for mobile communications technologies, including 5G and 6G. 3GPP specifications form the foundation of global mobile networks, and India’s active participation …

State Bank of India (SBI) and National Investment and Infrastructure Fund (NIIF)join hands to provide a greater thrust to infrastructure financing
Mumbai, India: State Bank of India and National Investment and Infrastructure Fund (NIIF) have today inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to boost the availability of capital for infrastructure projects. The scope of the MoU includes equity investments, project funding, bond financing, renewable energy support, and take-out finance for operating assets. The objective of this initiative is to aid in filling the gap at a time when the availability of equity and debt financing for infrastructure has moderated. On the sidelines of the signing event, Rajnish Kumar, Chairman, SBI said, “Today on the auspicious occasion of 64 the Bank’s Day, SBI, and NIIF have joined hands to provide a suite of financing solutions to the Infrastructure sector. The initiative will address concerns relating to the availability of equity and long term debt funding options to large scale projects thereby stimulating infrastructure development”.
