Dr Jitendra Singh Inaugurates AI Centre at Dehradun University, Calls for Integrity in Technology Use
Uttarakhand Gets First NVIDIA DGX B200-Powered AI-HPC Facility at Graphic Era DEHRADUN, September 16: Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology; Earth Sciences and Minister of State for PMO, Department of Atomic Energy, Department of Space, Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Dr Jitendra Singh today inaugurated the “Centre of Excellence for Artificial Intelligence, Skill Development, and Innovation” at Graphic Era (Deemed to be University) here and underscored the need for integrity in the application of artificial intelligence (AI). “AI can create miracles if used judiciously, but without integrity, it can also be misused, as seen in the rise of deepfakes and misinformation. Integrity has no technological substitute,” Dr Jitendra Singh said, cautioning students and researchers that ethical choices must guide the use of new technologies. He stressed that AI should be seen as a tool to complement human intelligence, not replace it, and advocated a “hybrid model” combining technology with human judgment. Shri Nitin Gadkari Says “India Targets No. 1 Position in Global Automobile Manufacturing”
Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari, unveiled an ambitious roadmap to position India as the world’s leading hub for automobile manufacturing, green mobility, and infrastructure innovation at the International Value Summit 2025, held in New Delhi yesterday. India has now surpassed Japan to become the third-largest automobile market globally, and the government is targeting the No. 1 position within the next five years. “All major global automobile brands are now present in India. Their focus has shifted from merely assembling to exporting vehicles from India to the world,” said Shri Nitin Gadkari. He further emphasised that India’s two-wheeler sector alone exports over 50% of its production, showcasing the country’s growing global footprint. State Bank of India (SBI) and National Investment and Infrastructure Fund (NIIF)join hands to provide a greater thrust to infrastructure financing
Mumbai, India: State Bank of India and National Investment and Infrastructure Fund (NIIF) have today inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to boost the availability of capital for infrastructure projects. The scope of the MoU includes equity investments, project funding, bond financing, renewable energy support, and take-out finance for operating assets. The objective of this initiative is to aid in filling the gap at a time when the availability of equity and debt financing for infrastructure has moderated. On the sidelines of the signing event, Rajnish Kumar, Chairman, SBI said, “Today on the auspicious occasion of 64 the Bank’s Day, SBI, and NIIF have joined hands to provide a suite of financing solutions to the Infrastructure sector. The initiative will address concerns relating to the availability of equity and long term debt funding options to large scale projects thereby stimulating infrastructure development”.
