Controversial political worker Javaid Qureshi’s ‘cloth tearing’ protest against Mehbooba Mufti
Javaid Qureshi warned Mehbooba Mufti of dire consequences and said that if she will insult the tricolor again, he will dispatch her to Pakistan.
Srinagar, J&K —
The controversial worker, who claims to be associated with Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP), tore his clothes in his typical protest on Saturday to express his resentment against Mehbooba Mufti’s ‘flag remarks’.
Qureshi tore his clothes and while pointing his finger towards his heart, said that the ‘Tiranga’ (Tricolor) stays here. “Where does Hindustan stay, it stays here. The respect for Tricolor is here and it won’t fade away,” Qureshi said.
He also warned Mehbooba Mufti of dire consequences and said that if she will insult tricolor again, he will dispatch her to Pakistan.
The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chief and former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti stirred a controversy yesterday during a press brief. She said that she won’t raise the tricolor till Government of India returns Jammu Kashmir’s flag back.
Mehbooba’s remarks didn’t go well with national political parties including Congress and BJP, and consequently sparked protest.
Pertinently, former MLC and senior vice president of J&K BJP, Sofi Yousuf earlier said that Qureshi is not associated with the party.
Meanwhile, Javaid Qureshi who is also known as Javaid Molvi set the effigy of Mehbooba on fire in presence of some of his supporters in Handwara area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district. Watch the video to know more.
