Postmaster General Krishna Kumar Yadav felicitated the Winners of competitions organized during Hindi Pakhwada in Ahmedabad
Hindi is not only the official language of India but also a representative of the country’s glorious literary tradition and rich cultural heritage. It is not merely a medium of communication but an expression of our emotions, values, and identity. In the present time, the reach of Hindi is no longer confined to India; it has also established a strong presence at the international level. In many countries around the world, Hindi is not only spoken but also studied and appreciated.
The Hindi language reflects the sentiments of our hearts and expresses every color of life with ease. We are proud of Hindi, as it is not only our mother tongue and official language but also a symbol of our culture, civilization, and self-respect. Therefore, adopting Hindi, using it, and contributing to its development is the duty of every Indian. These views were expressed by senior litterateur and Postmaster General of North Gujarat Region, Ahmedabad, Postmaster General Krishna Kumar Yadav, while presiding over the Hindi Pakhwada Closing and Felicitation Ceremony organized by the Department of Posts at the Regional Office, Ahmedabad on 29th September 2025. On this occasion, he also felicitated to the winners of various competitions held during Hindi Pakhwada.
Postmaster General Krishna Kumar Yadav said that due to its simplicity, intelligibility, and scientific nature, Hindi has become the third most widely spoken language in the world. Around 1.3 billion people worldwide can speak and understand Hindi. For thousands of years, Hindi has represented a vast segment of Indian society as both a vernacular and a people’s language. Today, Hindi is not only a language of literature and conversation but has also become a key language in science and technology, communication, information technology, and business.
This is why more than 18,000 Hindi words have been included in the Oxford Dictionary. In the digital era, the influence of Hindi has further expanded through websites, blogs, and social media. The sweetness of Hindi embodies the spirit of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”, and its simplicity carries profound knowledge. In today’s Amrit Kaal, Hindi has gained a new dimension as a language of transformation and development. The greatest strength of Hindi lies in its vast number of speakers. Hindi is not only our mother tongue but also the official language of the country. Therefore, it is essential not to limit it to official programs alone but to embrace it in daily life and inspire future generations to promote and propagate it.
